Ethical business policy

Core Beliefs

1. Terramar Organics was founded with the express intent of promoting social and environmental sustainability by consumers and retailers.
2. Terramar Organics is committed to sustainable production with a preference for organically grown raw materials and processes.
3. Terramar Organics is committed to social sustainability and accountability through fair trade and ethical labour practices.
4. Wherever possible, we are committed in all areas of purchasing, to the purchase of the environmental and ethical alternative to the conventionally produced product.
5. Our core beliefs shall be expressed in all our business dealings.

Organic Policy

A. To promote sustainable agriculture - Terramar Organics is committed to sourcing organic certified goods and supplies in all areas of work in preference to non-organic goods.
B. To minimise and prevent pollution - Our garments are certified 100% organic cotton, biodegradable processes are used in production, dyes are AZO and heavy metal free.
C. To protect existing resources - in addition to parts A and B Terramar Organics is committed to a program of Re-Use and Re-Cycle. All waste material directly generated by our office is separated and recycled. While anything, such as packaging and envelopes, that can be re-used are used again.
D. To minimise transport use - we utilise public transport and where practicable use alternatives to air travel, we aim to source goods and services as locally as possible.

Fair Trade Policy

E. To source ethical services, goods and supplies in all areas of work in preference to the non-ethical - our garments are manufactured in factories where basic labour rights are enforced.
F. To be transparent in its corporate dealings - we shall publish an annual report and respond to requests for information in full (via a third party if appropriate.)
G. To not invest in and not source goods from non-free countries as asserted by Freedom House in their annual report on political rights and civil liberties in independent countries.
H. To Pay a fair price for products and services - the cotton used in our garments comes from farmers who are paid a significant premium for their crop.
I. To support the local and regional economy - through the continued growth and involvement of Terramar Organics.
