Fairtrade Mark Cotton

The Fairtrade Mark guarantees a fair deal for farmers growing agricultural products in the developing world. The Fairtrade Cotton Mark guarantees that the farmers who grow the cotton fibre used in Fairtrade Mark products receive a fair and stable price including a premium which provides the opportunity to improve their communities. The Fairtrade Foundation is the UK independent body that awards the Fairtrade Mark to products that meet international fair trade standards.

Guaranteed organic cotton fibre, processing and manufacture - certified by the Control Union (formerly Skal International) under the production stadards laid down in EC-Regulation 2092/91 to the Global Organic Textile Standards.

 

 

Soil Association

Guarantees that the organic cotton textile (fibre, processing and manufacture) meets the Global Organic Textile Standards and production standards laid down in EC-Reg. 2092/91.

 

 

Fair Wear Foundation

Promotes good labour conditions in the garment industry. The foundation verifies that member companies work to enhance labour conditions in the factories where they source their garments. Where improvements are needed these are implemented and monitored together with the Fair Wear Foundation. A Dutch initiative of: Modint, Mitex, FNV, FNV Bondgenoten, Wereld Winkel, Schone Kleren Kampagne, Oxfam Novib, Max Havelaar Organisation.

 

Dyeing and Processing

Our cotton products are all processed using biodegradable aids, AZO and heavy metal free dyes making our garments ideal for those with sensitive skin.

 

 

 

Ethical Company Organisation Accreditation

Terramar Organics has been officially accreditated by the Ethical Company Organisation as an ethical company since May 2005. The award is given to companies that show a responsible attitude and commitment to animal welfare, human rights and the environment.
